Patients diagnosed with sleep apnea by a physician and who currently wear a Continuous Positive
Air Pressure (CPAP )device to sleep may find relief from this cumbersome appliance.  Mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)can be treated successfully with the use of a comfortable oral appliance to wear while sleeping.  In fact, the most recent studies are recommending  our oral appliance as the first choice in the treatment of mild to moderate sleep apnea. The appliance  will open the airway enough to eliminate  the necessity for the CPAP unit.   The oral appliance is very similar to a retainer and is custom designed for your mouth, teeth and oral cavity. We take custom measurements and send the models to our  laboratory for construction.  This device  will comfortably open your airway and can be "fine-tuned" by you and our staff for your  complete comfort. Additionally, patients who are diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea(OSA) may find relief as well or may be able to reduce the pressure setting to a more comfortable level on the CPAP device.
Please call us for an appointment to see if you may benefit from a dental sleep appliance.  Just bring your Sleep Study Results, and the physician's diagnosis with you for the consultation.  Your medical insurance may cover all or part of the oral appliance. Best of all, you may be able to eliminate the CPAP and finally get a good nights sleep without hoses, compressors, humidifiers, and air being blown into your throat. Your spouse or partner will thank you for it!
